Moonrise Kingdom
Hailing from the legendary tea-growing region of Darjeeling in Northern India, this green tea is a symphony of flavors. Most people associate Darjeeling teas with black teas, but producers there grow a variety of teas. This outstanding tea retains the common flavors associated with the Darjeeling terroir while adding a new dimension through being processed into a green tea. It is savory, thick, and muscatel like a white tea and has the classic apple flavors and floral notes of teas from the region, with a green-tea undertone rounding everything out. Rich depth with good harmony, this tea is one of our finest and a house favorite. The Champagne of teas!
Ingredients: Indian green tea.
Caffeine level: 3.5/5
Brewing recommendations: one tablespoon of tea leaves per 16oz of 170° water for three minutes. Will steep three times or more. It’s oily nature allows for longer and hotter steeps, particularly on the second and third steeps, so feel free to push it and you will be rewarded with very strong flavor on the re-steeps.
Servings per 50g: about 18, about 54 when steeped three times.
Price per serving: $1.46, $0.49 when steeped three times.
